It is said that it was the king of Koraput who first planted coffee seeds in this ancient land. The rest is history. Koraput coffee is renowned for its one-of-a-kind flavour profile, reminiscent of caramel, praline and toffee. The coffee is made from 100% shade-grown Arabica harvested by the tribal communities of Koraput in Odisha.
Grown in the Eastern Ghat forests of Odisha India, the Koraput tribe working in collaboration with a local NGO the Tribe O project, are producing excellent organic coffee (without certification). The Tribe O Project is a multi-agency initiative of the district administration’s coffee development trust with assistance from Tribal Development Co-operative Corporation of Odisha Ltd and the Coffee Board of India. Proceeds from the sale of this coffee go towards the improvement of the processing facilities of the Tribe O Project.
